The Minnesota DMR breakfast has a new place to call home. If you attended a breakfast in the last year at Fat Nat’s you can likely understand why we moved it. We’ve simply outgrown the Fat Nat’s in St. Anthony.
Starting on June 24th, 2023 and occuring bi-weekly from that date the new Minnesota DMR breakfast location will be at the Hyvee in Brooklyn Park (off Zane Ave.) inside their Wahlburgers eatery. Get more information, including the address, on the ‘Where’s Breakfast‘ page.
The host will arrive at 7 a.m. — but most people show up between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
Time: 7 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. — come whenever you’d like.
If you’ve attended our bi-weekly Saturday breakfast at Fat Nat’s Eggs in St. Anthony you know it’s a great location for us. But it’s not without its challenges. Given the exploding popularity of DMR we’ve seemingly outgrown our location at Fat Nat’s. We now regularly see 10+ attendees and run out of room. The solution? We’ve found a new location we want to test out!
Why are we changing to a new location?
- We’ve outgrown our location at Fat Nat’s Eggs
- It’s noisy at Fat Nat’s and communicating across the entire table is next impossible
- It can get busy early which forces the group to leave the table.
Where is the new test location and when is the test breakfast?
We’re going to try a new location for a special breakfast on June 3rd, 2023. As usual, the hosts will arrive at 7 a.m. but attendees can come any time before 10 a.m. It will be held at Hyvee in Brooklyn Park, MN inside their Wahlburgers eatery.
The address is 9409 Zane Ave Brooklyn Park, MN 55443. Simply enter in the main door and hang a right and you’ll see the restaurant. Tell them your with Minnesota DMR and they’ll show you to the table.
It’s a quiet spot with a huge table for us — including plenty of table space for laptops and outlets for charging computers. There is breakfast available — of course!
We hope to see you on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at Hyvee in Brooklyn Park on Zane Ave. Come judge for yourself if its a better location for our DMR breakfasts moving forward.
See you there!
Anyone still loving the snow? The DMR breakfast has been cancelled due to inclement weather. We’ll see you all on April 15th!
Just a quick reminder that the breakfast originally scheduled for March 18, 2023 at Fat Nat’s in St. Anthony is cancelled due to Midwinter Madness this weekend! All of the DMR folks will be out in Buffalo at the hamfest. Click here for more information on the Midwinter Madness hamfest.
Be sure to stop by and say hello to everyone at the Minnesota DMR table!

Where do we meet?
Fat Nat’s Eggs – St. Anthony Village, MN
2700 39th Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55421
What time do we meet?
8 a.m. – 10 a.m.-ish
Everyone is welcome to come out. If you’ve never been — don’t be shy. You’ll find us in the back left corner of the restaurant (the one with all the radios on the table). Introduce yourself and enjoy a nice meal — we don’t bite. Well… most of us.
As we deal with the splitting of talkgroup 3127 between the Brandmeister network and the K4USD network some questions have come up on whether you can access the K4USD TG3127 on a hotspot. This would be helpful for hams who are not near a K4USD-networked repeater but still want to check into that net on Wednesday or monitor both networks for 3127 activity. The answer is: yes!
— Point your hotspot to DMR+_IPSC2-Minnesota as its DMR Master Server.
— Use this password: passw0rd
Connect and reset — and you’re done. You’ll now be able to hear traffic on TG3127 from the K4USD network of repeaters.
